 I don't believe they deserved such a large jury award as first given, but I do say the show bore some responsibility. They lied to Scott to get him to appear on the show, said that the person who had the crush on him was in fact a woman, so Scott thought it was his female friend who testified. Yes, the show had some responsibility since they deceived Scott.

Also in question is the past mental health issues of (and I'm drawing a blank of his name) the shooter who had the crush on Scott. If they show would do some background checks on people that they have as guests, they would have seen this was a troubled man. Yes, they were somewhat responsible.
