The result obtained by Lahiri Mahashay is the same as Mahamudra/Dozchen practioners.

There is no real connection between the Mahamudra practice of Buddhists and the Kriya exercise of Mahamudra other than a common name.

Dozchen mentions Kriya (type) exercises as a helpful aide to realization.
