Subject: the meaning of serving

For me to serving others is a pleasure, and nothing more. So How do you serve others? and In what spirit? Isn't selfish just to meditate and ignore the World.

I saw a lecturer coughing once as the audience just watched as he almost drown himself. I stood up and fetched him some water. People stared at me with awe.

I know of a lady stranded on a major and busy highway because her automobile had a flat tire. Then She had to wait for fours and half hours before help arrived.
Isn't the time to shut down TV and modern electronics?
This maybe a good reason why Gurus advocate a simple life.
