Bhakti yoga is probably the most misunderstood yoga. Here are 36 + qualities of a bhakta as described in bhakti yoga of bhagvatdgita. ( If you read the Sanskrit part of these slokas then one can count the adjectives addressed for bhakta) The outward bhakti is a expression of gross display of sanskaras. Nowhere in Gita, Lord Krishna has told to wear outward symbols, or dancing or anything of such nature. For those expert in bhava vignan, bhakti yoga is easily attained as prescribed by Sri Krishna. ( I have enumerated those adjectives )

Chapter 12 – bhagwatgita

13. Adweshtaa (1) sarvabhootaanaam (2) maitrah (4) karuna (5) eva cha;
Nirmamo (28) nirahankaarah (29) samaduhkhasukhah (30) kshamee (31). (I had missed the line so, I added these numbers later)

13. He who hates no creature, who is friendly and compassionate to all, who is free from attachment and egoism, balanced in pleasure and pain, and forgiving,

14. Santushtah (6)satatam (7)yogee (8) yataatmaa (9) dridhanishchayah (10);
Mayyarpitamanobuddhiryo (11) madbhaktah sa me priyah.

14. Ever content, steady in meditation, possessed of firm conviction, self-controlled, with mind and intellect dedicated to Me, he, My devotee, is dear to Me.

15. Yasmaannodwijate loko(13) lokaannodwijate (14) cha yah;
Harshaamarshabhayodwegairmukto (15) yah sa cha me priyah.

15. He by whom the world is not agitated and who cannot be agitated by the world, and who is freed from joy, envy, fear and anxiety—he is dear to Me.

16. Anapekshah (16) shuchir (17) daksha (18) udaaseeno (19) gatavyathah; (20)
Sarvaarambhaparityaagee (21) yo madbhaktah sa me priyah.

16. He who is free from wants, pure, expert, unconcerned, and untroubled, renouncing all undertakings or commencements—he who is (thus) devoted to Me, is dear to Me.

17. Yona hrishyati (22) na dweshti(23) na shochati(24) na kaangkshati; (25)
Shubhaashubhaparityaagee (26) bhaktimaan (27) yah sa me priyah.

17. He who neither rejoices, nor hates, nor grieves, nor desires, renouncing good and evil, and who is full of devotion, is dear to Me.

18. Samah shatrau cha mitre cha (32) tathaa maanaapamaanayoh; (33)
Sheetoshnasukhaduhkheshu samah sangavivarjitah.

18. He who is the same to foe and friend, and in honour and dishonour, who is the same in cold and heat and in pleasure and pain, who is free from attachment,

19. Tulyanindaastutir (34) maunee (35) santushto yena kenachit: (36)
Aniketah (37) sthiramatir (38) bhaktimaan me priyo narah.

19. He to whom censure and praise are equal, who is silent, content with anything, homeless, of a steady mind, and full of devotion—that man is dear to Me.
