He is alive and living near Rishikesh. He has wrote books. Visit ananda under their pilgrimage area and you will see a pic of him and that ananda groups visit him. He does SRF kriya. Swami Jnanananda is how they spell it.

Atmananda got sannyas from Rajarsi as I understand it. He was reputed to be very advanced.
