Subject: Lahiri Baba's Prophecy About Yogananda

I have been familiar with this story for about twenty five years and only recently did it occur to me that Lahiri made an interesting ommission.Lahiri Baba said that Yogananda would be A YOGI.He did not just say KRIYA yogi.Lahiri also stated that Yogananda would not merely become realized himself but that he would be an ENGINE CARRYING MANY SOULS TO GOD.As we all know,only a fully realized being could carry any soul to God,let alone MANY.Maybe I am reading into this,but it seems to me that Lahiri Baba was describing Yogananda's purpose as being a teacher not only to Kriya practitioners,but to souls outside the Kriya Tradition as well.Since Lahiri Baba, all the other Kriya masters and acharyas operated within the Kriya framework,perhaps because their souls only had the capacity to take shelter in that framework.The criticisms of the 'Traditionalists' towards S R F in general and Yogananda in particular can only be born of their misunderstanding of the greater picture(which is a point I have made ad nauseam,I know,sorry).Lahiri Baba seems to have known about the greater picture,from the moment he first held baby Mukunda in his arms.
