I have heard that the monks of the Ramakrishna order in USA were jealous of Guruji. It could have slanted this story. It is described in Kriyananda's book "conversations with Yogananda". One of the head monks of Ramakrishna in Hollywood says in it that Guruji "is a good...cook."

Guruji got along well with Paramananda, a chela of Vivekananda that made Ananda Ashrama in La Craesenta 20 minutes north of mother center about 1920. He says in East West magazine (somewhere--cant recall the issue)that Paramananda is doing very good work. This work is not allied with Ramakrishna Vedabta and they have had their share of problems over the years--so I was told by someone at their ashram. I have been to both several times.
