Yes, while the various pieces of the true cross on display must have caused the destruction of a small forest.

Perhaps the strangest of the holy relics was the Holy Prepuce, or the foreskin of Christ. There was much debate in the middle ages as to whether or not Christ's foreskin would have ascended into heaven with the rest of him, or whether it was restored to his body at the resurrection.

It is now known that the Jews at the time of Christ practiced a different type of circumcision to that practiced by Jews today. Only the tip of the foreskin was removed in those days, so medieval representations of the sacred relic may have been inaccurate.

At one time there were 14 churches in Italy alone claiming to possess the sacred relic, but these gradually withered away until only one was left. This was at Calcata where the relic was paraded through the streets on January 1st (the Feast of the Circumcision) each year until it was stolen in 1983. What became of the relic after that is unknown.
