I am not sure that the pyramids are really as old as Cayce suggests.

There are several layers of wood above the Great Chamber. These wood plates are inaccessible without applying special means.

During some recent renovation work the name "Khufu" was found on one (completely enclosed) plate, apparently being part of ancient graffiti inscribed by the workers who built the pyramid.

Khufu is the original name for "Cheops" - the historical Pharaoh who is generally credited with building this pyramid. Cheops lived in the 26th century BC.

Apart from that the pyramid is really a mystery. Years ago I read the book "Secrets of the Great Pyramid" by Peter Tompkins.
