Great stuff! Wonderful posts!

I have a shambaala book available at almost any bookstore. It is white and I think it is "the teachings of Ramana Maharishi." In there you can plainly see that Ramana has many disciples that were doing karma, bakti and raja yogas with his blessings. Papaji also had people that were doing them and admitted they had a place.

The vichara technique is applicable when you have already had savikalpa samadhis with the personal Lord. For a few intellectuals, it also seems the only technique that feels right. These are few. I think many are doing a spritual mindgame with neo-vedanta.

I met Gangaji who is a chela of Papaji. I was awed by her posture and magnetism. She seemed like a lioness. But I was not impressed with her satsang. It seemed like psychotherapy to me and I didn't get any shakti.

Personally I am wary of teachers that say not to make an effort. Ramana is right on--extreme effort is necesarry until the last shift to the non dual state. It takes effort to surrender even! Daya Mata has addressed this topic of effort or no effort also in her tapes and books.

Meantime, the positive from this neo vedanta is it breaks people from their old dogmas and gives them a form of therapy.

Swami Ramananda, direct and personal chela of Anandamoyi Ma and commissioned to teach in the west in her name has said this. Ma always stressed that in the kali yuga the way to salvation is satsang. It is easier if the guru is in form but not essential, especially if the guru is fully liberated. If you have kriya you can get inner satsang as Yukteswar says.

I am finally at the point that I don't crave to see other saints and gurus. I know I am more benefitted by kriya at home and visualizing Yogananda. But this is only since kundalini awakened and the spiritual eye formed. To demand it of people before may be too much. But now I understand more about loyalty and its whys.

Speaking of Ramana..I heard some fellow named Robert Adams I think was at Mother Center a couple years with Master. Then Master told him that Ramana was his guru and go there. He did and became a teacher in new england. He has some books but he has passed on.
