I am unsure wether you are right M, or wether Yogananda is right--that all must pass thru the star to cosmic consciousness. He says this repeatedly. Yet, it is surely a factor that what one's guru has experienced--a chela will experience similar. That seems to be likely.

The book by Davis is "surrendedered love, redeeming grace". Muktananda talked of the blue pearl. There are relevant discussions on it at:

www.kundalini-gateway.org
www.williamhenry.net/1articles/blue-stone.pdf

The latter file must be opened with adobe acrobat and is especially fascinating. It points to the blue pearl in the bible as well as it being the famous "philosopher's stone".

I make 2 observations: the fellow you quoted said he saw astral and causal realms. The blue part of kutasta relates to causal realms and christ consciousness where one can get some siddhis. Muktananda fell to sexcapades according to many sources. I am of the opinion that he stopped sadhana too soon. Perhaps he had yet to penetrate the star?

Regardless, I see the kutatsa exactly as kriya describes it. The star is in the middle. Curiously, Pranabananda and Yukteswar as well as all others except Yogananda do not mention the star. (Except Lahiri quoted in Autobio of a Yogi.) They mention the "lightening of Radha and the deep blue of Krishna in kutasta". The star is omitted. I have yet to figure out why.

Is there anyone on this board with a traditional kriya guru who talks about the star?

Sundarar
