The lightening Guruji sings about here is coming out of the gold ring--usually in all directions. This has been called the hair of divine mother. This hair may be seen as the threads in superstring theory or vibrations/sutras in vedic.

Radha in pictures usually wears yellow sari and krishna's skin is blue, though he is in yellow also. This matches the kutasta too.

I have been told by one traditional kriyaban that krishna or vishnu is in the blue and shiva (paramashiva) is in the star. Perhaps you could see the gold ring as brahma. These are all points of view.

Read Yukteswar and Pranab gita and you will see how they describe kutasta. They call the 1st ring the cool lightening of radha. The gold term is not used but it is obvious what they mean especially when they go on to address the blue center.

Radha and krishna are always together. It is we that go to meet them and ultimately to the star. But most go thru radha 1st. This is discussed by Hare Krishna devotees and others including Anandamoy. It is easier to approach a mother also. The Hare' of Hare Krishna is reputed to refer to the shakti of Radha. Krishnas say without her shakti we can't get to krishna. Hence the hare krishna of mahamantra.
