If Lahiri truly loved his daughter, his heart was with her in her hour of need, not with the grieving relatives. If someone is grieving, you let them express their pain at the loss of a loved one, perhaps attempting to assauge it if it becomes too deep or unreasonable. Who can say if that was the case with his wife?

Besides, the others are right, you werent there and you have heard it this way only from others who werent there either. Dont be too quick to judge what happened based on second-hand sources. Only God truly knows what passed between Lahiri Baba, his daughter and wife and the disciples and other relatives that day.
