[> Wow! It seems like we have had a lot of celebrity deaths lately, starting with David Carradine. Billy Mays was only 50. That's so young. -- JAG Junkie (Ronda), 20:32:10 06/28/09 Sun [1]

[> When I heard this I was very saddened I have been watching Pitchmen on Discovery with Billy and Sully and getting to know more about Billy. We got to meet his wife and daughter and son who works with him. He was a good guy and was fun to watch sell all those products. My thoughts go out to his family and friends. -- Hope, 21:01:55 06/28/09 Sun [1]

[> I have no idea who Billy Mays is. Even wikipedia didn't enlighten me really. Was he an advertisement man? I'm not being disrespectful, but I don't understand why he was famous. -- Cece...still saddened by the deaths of DC, FF, and MJ., 08:38:02 06/29/09 Mon [1]

[> [> Hiya CeCe...Billy Mays was an obnoxious (sorry but he really was) pitchman...he was most famous for OxyClean & Mighty Putty. He was loud, booming, & just overall obnoxious. I had to change everytime an infomercial with him in it came on. That being said, I do feel empathy for his family, & don't wish death upon anyone. His death seems odd, like maybe it had something to do with debris falling on his head after he was on a commercial flight that blew a tire upon landing. A la Natasha Richardson, maybe he had an undisclosed head injury from that. -- Jennifer, 10:01:38 06/29/09 Mon [1]

[> [> [> See I find him funny and entertaining. Kind so over the top it is hilarious. Never found him obnoxious. But I guess to each their own. Yeah from what I have read had a hard landing Sat on a plane he was on and some stuff fell on his head. -- Hope, 10:05:58 06/29/09 Mon [1]

[> [> [> [> Supposedly the coroner in Tampa has a news conference scheduled for noon, perhaps then we'll know. I hope it wasn't because of the plane, but it makes sense. Like I said, I found him incredibly obnoxious, but that doesn't mean I wished any harm. I do feel sorry for his family, you go to bed & you just don't wake up. That seems odd for someone that isn't all that old. -- Jennifer, 11:18:08 06/29/09 Mon [1]

[> [> [> [> [> [> It isnt unusual for someone to die of a blood clot or embolus after a flight. Sitting for long periods of time on a plane can lead to blood clots in the legs that travel to the heart or lungs. Him not feeling well before bed would also not be unusual if in fact it were a clot. -- Trish...I lost a brother in law this way., 14:03:29 06/29/09 Mon [1]

[> [> Even seen a commerical for Oxi Clean, he is the one pitching it. Always wears a blue shirt. Has made a ton of commericals selling things. Maybe they don't really show these in Canada. Inside for a link to the TV show he has with another Pitchman. -- Hope, 10:02:17 06/29/09 Mon [1]

[> [> What is it about the age of *50*?! (I'm turning that age myself this year in 3 months, good Lord willing)- eeek! Heard and read this evening that it was heart disease that killed him- enlarged heart, left main artery and another that had thickened, etc. He had also complained of not feeling well before he went to bed that evening. I'm sure the flight didn't help, either. Bless him and his family. -- Matou/Carol, 21:32:39 06/29/09 Mon [1]

[> [> [> (cont'd) I also read this evening that actress Gale Storm and comedian Fred Travelina died this past weekend, also. There's that "threes" thing again- first it was Ed Mcmahon, Farah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. Now Billy Mays, Gale Storm and Fred Travelina. May they all rest in peace. -- Carol/Matou, 21:34:17 06/29/09 Mon [1]
