Subject: Question about Grey's: What put Meredith in the hospital as a patient and now apparently recovering at home? Or is she pregnant and on leave of absence as part of the plot?

[> She donated her kidney to her rotten father. Horrible Lexie played the Manipulating sister, and laid a guilt trip on Mer. She begged for Meridith to give her her "Daddy." Mer did not want to go through with it, but caved under the sibling pressure. I do NOT like Lexie. I don't understand in any way how she is an interesting, likeable, or compelling character. -- Cece, 21:30:10 11/05/09 Thu [1]

[> [> (Giggling) Tell us what you really think, Cece! I like Lexie, but we can't really blame her for the face that Mer's alterego is mego prego and they had to hide her in the show. Voila! Thatcher needs a liver section. I'm just thankful we haven't had to keep seeing HIM. Just keep showing me McDreamy and McSteamy and I'm happy. Now if we could just have Harm! -- TH, 00:26:07 11/06/09 Fri [1]

[> [> [> Ooops...I meant liver section not kidney transplant. Lexie is the only character I don't like. I love Arizona and the actress who plays her. She's my fave. I also love Alex and Callie. I still like Christine, Mer, and Bailey. I'm happy there is eye candy....Dreamy, Steamy, and the Chief but I hate seeing Steamy with Lexie. She is such a school girl and when they get sexy, it's so ewwwww. I'm sorry, I just don't get her. (inside) -- Cece, 10:24:29 11/06/09 Fri [1]

It might be me, but honestly, I really don't get what is special about Lexie or the actress. I would understand if her character was strong...either good or bad. But she comes across as a well scrubbed good girl, (maybe a candy striper). I can see why the other actors were chosen to play major roles. They get inside the skin of the characters they play, and those characters are all meaty, so to speak.

But Lexy is, in my opinion, a sugery, manipulative, vacuous, child, playing grown-up, and inserting herself in every important situation. I wouldn't mind so much if that is how we were supposed to see her. But we are not. We are supposed to see her as this brave, brilliant young surgeon, who is sexy, smart, and loyal.

I used to dislike Izzie (around the time of the stolen heart deal.) But compared to Lexie, Izzie displayed a mature profundity!! I guess I just don't like that type of character...the sweet, clever, manipulative "angel" who emotes to get her own way. (Izzie lying to get the heart for her terminally ill lover, and Lexie with the liver for her dead-beat, cruel, alcoholic Daddy.) Both used people to get what they wanted, regardless of the consequences to the other parties. Izzie's victim ultimately died, and Lexie begged her half-sister, a woman already having to deal with her own near death situation, and the psychologic fall-out from being abandoned by her piece-of-rubbish father, to put her own life in danger to give Lexie her "Daddy" back.

What the heck is there to like or admire about that kind of selfish behaviour?

[> [> [> [> Oh just let me add, I shouldn't say anything mean about the actress. It's just that for such a big role, I was wondering why she was chosen. Perhaps she's famous from shows I haven't seen and has a fan base.. -- Cece, 14:19:42 11/06/09 Fri [1]

[> [> [> [> I'm with you Cece, I LOVE Arizona! She's my favorite, and they're doing her relationship with Callie very well! I can take or leave Lexi. I thought Meredith's giving of the liver section story line was more to do with Meredith's feelings and decisions and the reasons for them, than about Lexi. -- Theresa, 18:53:07 11/08/09 Sun [1]

[> Enjoyed seeing Vareese(sp?), Sturgis' girlfriend, as the mother of the little boy - I was expecting her to start singing to him. All these JAG connections. -- ED, 08:09:29 11/06/09 Fri [1]

[> [> Oh I can't believe little Coco (from fame) is sooo growed up! That story line was heart breaking. "Bad dream go away, good dreams stay." Sob. It was so poignant when Arizona completed the mantra over the body of the dead little boy. -- Cece, 10:28:06 11/06/09 Fri [1]

[> [> [> I know, I don't normally cry during shows, but I cried when she shooed that little one's nightmares away even in death. He was afraid of the nightmares, and that was the last thing she could do to protect him. It really showed her heart, and I'm glad the father saw that. -- Theresa, 01:57:06 11/09/09 Mon [1]
