We can discuss the actual athletic events on the Sports board, but there's a LOT more to the Olympics than the actual games. There is personal drama, there is fashion drama, there is a lot of "entertainment value" to be had.

So, first of all: Opening Ceremonies... Your thoughts?

[> He lost me with the boy-girl section but other than that it was wonderful. I loved the lighting of the Olympic cauldron. The idea of using the each country's individual cauldron to make up the Olympic cauldron was unique and so olympic. Countries coming together to compete reflected in the final home of the Olympic flame.. Looking forward to more from London. -- usmgrad, 13:15:28 07/28/12 Sat [1]

[> I so think that the Queen is the bomb after being a part of a 007 tribute and being willing to have some fun. I thought that overall the open was great, plus having been there a couple of months ago just adds to the fun of watching -- DOS, 08:52:21 07/30/12 Mon [1]

[> I loved it. While spectacular in it´s own way, it did´t have that pompous feel to it that so many of the previous ones had, but it all felt rather joyful. Loved the Queen and James Bond, and also Mr. Bean´s chariots of fire, LOL. -- Jam, 13:25:42 07/30/12 Mon [1]

[> [> You just named the only two parts I have watched. lol I recorded it, but probably will not get around to watching it for sometime. I'm still trying to make time to watch the Tony Awards.
