Subject: I LOVE John Lennon's "Happy Christmas/War is Over" song! It's powerful and important! Yes we're so very different. ;-)
In reply to: The Chief (how different we all are) 's message, "Oh, my gosh, if I never hear that Mariah Carey song ever again in my life, I'd be a happy woman! That and John Lenin's finger-pointing, Krishna-chanting sermonette. >:-P" on 00:40:07 12/10/11 Sat

[> [> [> [> [> Don't get bent, Theresa - just pokin' some fun. I spelled it that way on purpose. I don't like the accusatory tone in the first two lines. What have I done? I'm a mother of 3, what HAVEN'T I done? I don't need Mr. Lennon to look down his nose at me in a Christmas song fer cryin' out loud. Secondly, the "war is over, if you want it" is similar to the Hare-Krishna chanting at the end of "My Sweet Lord". (one-two, one-two; one-two, one-two... and possibly the same melody as well, but a slower). -- The Chief.... The rest of the song is passable, and obviously some feel it to be powerful, but I wouldn't call it "important", except for Lennon's bank account., 22:42:04 12/10/11 Sat [1]

[> [> [> [> [> Oh, and you didn't have to ask me which song I was talking about either... so obviously my description was enough to ring a bell for you. Why is that? -- The Chief, 22:45:09 12/10/11 Sat [1]

[> [> [> [> [> [> I'm not bent, just giving my view. And wasn't sure if I missed something with the Krishna description, I know My Sweet Lord, but didn't see the tie in. I knew which one you were talking about as I have the Lennon anthology and that's the only Christmas song. -- Theresa, 23:30:07 12/10/11 Sat [1]
