I've heard so many rumors! Are there new rules with scholarship monies received? Can outstanding tuition loans be paid or just future tuition? Are the rules different for locals than state? I also want everyone to know there are a lot of changes but those local Boards who are working very hard will pull through and please if anyone wants to complain join a local board and help. It's volunteer - anyone can help!!!!!!!!

My daughter is a competition dancer and has competed in the MAOT program the past 2 years in SC. In order to fund her pageant costs, I recycled her costumes and wardrobe. Over time, I started doing this for our dance studio and other studios and pageant contestants. If you want to own the perfect costume, but don't want to pay retail, be sure to check my site. It was created by a dance and pageant mom on a budget for other dance and pageant moms who like to find a great deal! The address is: http://picasaweb.google.com/TheCostumeCorner I have hundreds of exquisite dance costumes, gowns, cocktail dresses and suits in all sizes and styles! I am located in Fort Mill, SC.

Eagle U and Mental Management® System have partnered together to bring you an all new program: Mental Toughness for Pageantry! This program has been specifically designed to train pageant competitors ages 14 to 25 for the mental game associated with pageant competition. Regardless of the pageant affiliation, pageant competitors will learn a mental preparation and training system that will give them a significant edge over their competition.

The Mental Management® System was developed by Lanny Bassham following his first Olympic games. Lanny is a two time world champion, a 1976 Olympic gold medalist, author of With Winning in Mind, and the former mental preparation coach to nine countries' Olympic teams. Lanny has been training Olympians, pro athletes, pageant competitors and individuals wanting to improve their performance under pressure for over 30 years and is currently the mental preparation coach for 15 PGA Tour Players. Now the same proven system is available to you through the Mental Toughness for Pageantry program.

Mental Toughness for Pageantry will teach you the tools to:

  • Maximize your ability to maintain a positive self-image throughout competition
  • Analyze your performance and have a system for improvement
  • Blast your competition with unparalleled self-confidence and stage presence
  • Practice and apply the Mental Management System in a mock pageant competition
  • Handle backstage drama during competition
  • Turn deficiencies into strengths
  • Performing under pressure at the national level

At Mental Toughness for Pageantry, you will have the opportunity to learn from Lanny Bassham himself, as well as Heather Sumlin, Director of Performance Programs at Mental Management® Systems. Heather Sumlin is a certified instructor of Mental Management® to pageant competitors and stage performers, including the former Miss Texas, Shilah Phillips, 1st Runner Up to Miss America 2007. You will also have the opportunity to learn from Jennifer McCoy, Co-Owner of Lenz Boutique, a premier, full-service pageant and designer evening gown boutique. Jennifer McCoy is also the creator of Crown Consulting.

The program will be held in Dallas, TX December 27-31, 2008 at the Grand Hyatt DFW Hotel. The all-inclusive tuition for the Mental Toughness for Pageantry program is $2,495 per student (all 2008-2009 Eagle U Scholarships may be applied to tuition). You are encouraged to secure your seat as soon as possible. If you are serious about winning a state or national title, you don’t want to pass on this opportunity. Seating is limited to ensure personal attention.

Tuition includes:

  • Transportation between the designated airport and the seminar
  • All meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and snacks
  • Lodging
  • Workbook
  • Copy of With Winning in Mind
  • Copy of Freedom Flight
  • Audio CD - What Every Pageant Contestant Needs to Know FIRST About the Mental Game
  • Performance Analysis Journal

Get ready to unlock your potential and achieve the results you’ve been dreaming of! Call 1-888-732-4538 today to register.

Hi everyone,

I am the owner and moderator of the Lightly Moderated MAO board. It is still up and running, and I am trying to get it to grow. It's a national discussion board where most things stay. I wanted to give people a good alternative to speak their minds without fear of having it deleted, etc.

I started a new series called "Raising the Bar". This week, Alaska is featured. Come ring in as Alaskans who you think raised the bar for your state, both on a state and national level. Here is the address:

Keep it for future reference, we'd love to have you!

Miss Oregon, a former refugee, gives to those in need
Danijela Krstic, a Beaverton dental hygienist, serves on local dental van
with Medical Teams International today
(PORTLAND, ORE. - July 28, 2008) Danijela Krstic, Miss Oregon 2008 and a dental volunteer with Medical Teams International, will be at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center today working aboard a “dental van on wheels.” Krstic, along with a volunteer dentist and dental assistant, will provide care for 10 to 15 pregnant mothers, patients who otherwise would not receive treatment.

Miss Oregon 2008 has a unique understanding of the work Medical Teams International does around the world. A dental hygienist from Beaverton, Krstic fled her home country of Bosnia 10 years ago, a region torn-apart by civil war. It is also a destination for medical supplies from Medical Teams International.

A decade later, Krstic is now investing in the lives of Oregonians. The 24-year-old, who says growing up in war-torn Bosnia helped her to understand what it was like to not have basic needs met, is now ensuring that her neighbors will have what she didn’t.

Media: Miss Oregon 2008, Danijela Krstic, will volunteer with Medical Teams International’s dental clinic from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., today, at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center’s Prenatal Care Clinic, 9340 SW Barnes Rd, Suite 102., Portland.

In 2006, Krstic also traveled with Medical Teams International to Nicaragua, where she provided dental care to hundreds of children.

This is someone's daughter, someone's grand daughter, someone's sister etc.
She has apologized.
Would you want someone to continue harassing your daughter?
Mike Miller has addressed this issue.

I work with young people ( 18 - older). They do make poor choices. Some day it could be your kid. How would you want it handled then?
Believe me I see that a lot. Parents who are out for blood when it's somebody else's kid, but when it happens with their kid . . .

Please let's act like the adults we are. Dignity, grace, compassion, forgiveness. We need to help mentor these young people so they learn how to deal with their mistakes and make better choices in the future.
