How about Deng Gai and Michael Bradley both making the team?

Gai played at Fairfield.
Bradley's dad played at Fairfield.
And let's not forget Sixer assistant coach Jim Lynam, who was head coach at Fairfield.

The link below shows 14 Sixers. Two of them are known to be injured (Bradley and Randolph). Does this mean that Deng Gai made the team? Only one pre-season game left. I'd have to say that it looks very good that he will make it.

Stagman,

I think your link references the 14 players that are under contract. 12 of those are Guarenteed contracts and 2 are partially guarenteed (Gai and Shavilk Randolph).

Not only is Bradley and Randolph injured, but Jamal Mashburn is retired due to injury, so he will take up a Roster spot on the 3 man injured reserve list. So in theory that puts Gai at #11 on the depth chart.

However, there are 3 free agents trying out for the team. James Thomas, who is likely to make the team aheads of Gai, Oli Famutini who is a guard where they already have a lot of depth, and Steve Castleberry who Gai is ahead of.

It looks good for Gai to make the 12-man roster to open the season, but when Bradley and Randolf get healthy, Gai could go the injured reserve list. Gai must prove he can stick.

Link to current Roster.
