When we were not playing or practicing, we relaxed as a team and enjoyed ourselves. However, we knew we were out there for one reason, and that was to win."

I agree. That tournament was special. We were so close to winning that last game. That tournament combined with the magical winning streak when Gai and Todd were out are no doubt the greatest Stag moments during the past few years.

Hawaii was special and so was the winning streak without Todd and Gai, but the ultimate was beatng St John's at St Johns. It was probably easy to forget as St Johns ended in a disaster that season. But at that time St Johns had just won the NIT the Prior season, and lost a close Pre-season NIT game vs Marquette who was an NCAA semi-finalist. We beat St Johns when they were good, they fell apart with defection right after that.

I was at that game. It was huge, and the press we got in NYC and nationally was probably the most we ever got from a win.

But the Hawaii thing was one rebound away from a great accomplishment. And I talked to other people who were in Hawaii that said how great that was..... so I gues you just had to be there..... like Bently was.
