Subject: Stags @ AHY

I noticed Siena drew 6397 for their game against Marist. Which brings me to my next question. Do any of you know if we have a similiar deal with the AHY as Siena has with the Pepsi. They (the siena board) did a nice job breaking down finances and what it costs on a night to night basis. We must be in the red as you all know attendence has not been what the adminstration has expected. Still I would like to know exactly what we pay a night to rent the arena, secure it and other costs associated. I think it would make for an interesting thread.

Wait till you find out what it cost this season to have the women play all those single stand alone games at AHY with about 700 fans there. Hopefully, next season those games will be at AH!

I'm not sure our rent is as high as Siena's because the Pepsi is a much larger arena that serves as the primary facility for Albany. It's kind of like the Hartford Civic Center. AHY is smaller and more of a regional center that serves as almost a convention center for Fairfield County as well.

But I do know Siena's ticket prices are cheaper than ours, and I think our prices should come down some. I'd like to see $15 and $10 tix.

The women lost today at Siena. I found the first sentence of the game recap quite interesting...

Loudonville, N.Y. - The Fairfield University women's basketball team dropped a 70-64 decision to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) host Siena College this afternoon at the Alumni Recreation Center on the Siena campus.

Even Siena plays their women's basketball games on campus!!!

playing the women's games at AHY is just plain dumb. Georgetown in the big east, yet plays its home games on campus, not the Verizon (MCI) Center.

I think it cost about 15,000 to rent AHY.

St. Joe's women play at campus, St. John's women play on campus, Georgetown women play on campus, Siena women play on campus, the list goes on and on. Fairfield women play off campus at AHY. Just add up all those $15,000 stand alone single games the Fairfield women played this season at AHY. Money well spent?
