Is it now or never regarding the decision to redshirt O'Sullivan?

I am pretty sure a redshirt decision (or medical hardship) can be made anytime, even after the season.... as long as MOS does not play in more than 5 games, does not play in any games in 2nd half of season, and there is proper medical documentation that he is unable to play.

So the decision is really at the point when he is healthy..... to play him, or redshirt.

I think Jan 15th is the midpoint of the season, so if there is any specific date that can be pointed to...... then that be the one.

C- is actually a bit generous. Yeah, we played well against Providence, admirably against Iowa and very good against Tulane but, overall, I would have to give us a D or maybe even a D-. I dont think anybody thought we would be undefeated but, with just one win, 0-4 at home, I can't see us actually passing and D- is a passing grade - barely. Bright spots are obviously Han and a more lethal outside arsenal but, with not inside help and no height, we are going to get crushed every time. Hopefully, MAX did what he had to do to come back and Mamadou is all that people want him to be. I am still in the 20-loss camp this year.

Our record depends on who we get back. If its just Dou, then we win 6 maac games. If its Dou and Dewitt we win 9. Dou, Dewitt and Mos, then put us down for 11. Add one to two wins in ooc. If Big Geoff can improve, we can win a few more. We cannot stand pat and expect to get that much better.

I would agree that we will not be much of a force in the MAAC if our frontline remains with Carter, Middleton and Reedal getting most of the minutes. But I disgree that we will not get any better with the addition of Mamadou, Maxwell and/or MOS. Any combination of them will help trememdously.

Sure there are question marks if MOS will ever comeback this year, and is Max in physical and mental shape to return to form. And there are always question marks about transfers impact. But to say that Mamadou was only a role player at E Kentucky is kinda dismissing him. He did start 6 of 13 games as a frosh , and play some of the other games with a bum ankle before having to end his season. And he wa 2-time Nassau county POY. I do not expect Mamadou to turn us around by himself and I do expect him to have some rust, but to me a Max/MOS/Mamadou and an improving Middelton frontcourt is a whole lot better thatn a Carter/Reedal and inexpereinced Middleton that we had 1st sememster.

But it all comes down to us improving the defense with the new troops. TOT has to find a will and way to make that happen.

agreed...C- is very generous. We have slipped to #276 in the Sagarin ratings. That puts us behind Yale (#211), SHU (#218) and Quinnipiac (#247). Congrats to those programs, but from an FU perspective, it is extremely embarassing.

I don't see it getting much better, this season or next. Mamadou was a role player at E. Ky (#242). Don't know what to expect from Maxwell, considering what has gone on. And we lose Maxwell, Todd, Carter and Bell to graduation.

Unless TOT has something up his sleeve, I see a bleak picture for Stags' basketball for the near term.
