The Eastern Big East's "basketball only's" (PC, SJU, SHU, NOVA, G'TOWN) will call on their midwestern brethren, (Depaul, Marquette) and add 2 to 3 other schools to form the newly aligned basketball only conference. Best candidates would be Xavier, Temple, St.Joe's, Dayton, UMass, and URI. If Fairfield could ever get their act together you guys would be a strong candidate. Nice arena, great recruiting metro, and similarly aligned school to a majority of the conference.

Its a real long shot that we could ever be lined up with PC, SJU, SHU, NOVA, G'TOWN, Xavier, St Joes, Dayton, Marquette, St Louis

If we have any chance, we have to shoot to be aligned with Fordham, Holy Cross, Lasalle, Duquesne, St Bonnies, and some MAAC schools that want to increase their Budgets.

If these schools hook up with their midwestern brethren, Fairfield has no shot. If you include any two of the 5 teams you listed in any list, Fairfield doesn't make the cut.
