Its ironic that we used to be upset by getting beat by teams that had athletic 6'6" and 6'7" players up front.
Now, according to Joe Stag's report, we got beat by a team that had better 6'4"/6'5" players. Our program is clearly going backwards.

It's only one game, but the reality is that this was probably the most winnable game on our out-of-conference schedule.

Disappointing to see that Middleton only merits two minutes. Has he progressed that little?

Looking at the boxscore, about 75% of our shots were taken by guards. Only MOS, Carter and Reedal took shots among our frontcourt players and even they took a good number of threes.

This team has virtually no inside threat on offense and opponents will be able to attack our interior defense with impunity. The loss of Gai is HUGE.

We really have to hope that our lack of size will be less of a detriment in the MAAC, but until those games arrive, we should not expect the W-L results to be very positive. If 6'4" players from St Francis can control us, what will St Joes/Providence/Iowa/G'town do?

Alas, it is but one game and our perpetual fan's optimism will likely be back by Monday evening.

Forgot Oglesby. He made a nice drive, an a great layup for a han pass. but he also committed some coltly turnovers. Han and Todd were the most effective on penetrating thats why they got the most fouls

The 6-4/6-5 players were effective for St Francis because that is their strength. It also seams that our "current' weakness because those players combined talent with quickenss and strength. Max and Mamadou's retuen should rectify that problem.

But I think MOS and Carter did a good job on their 6-7, 6-8, and 6-9 players inside, as they were not as quick and mobile. So I don't think that just because we had trouble with the 6-4/6-5 guys means we are less equiped to handle the bigger guys. I think if they went bigger Middleton would have got more time.

Even thou 75% of out shots were from guards, that does not mean they were outside shots. Most of thee baskets and shots by Han and Todd were drives to the hoop and range from 2-7 foot shots. Without Max and Mamadou our inside game is limited to players driving to the hoop and getting O-boards. My guess is that our inside-outside shot ratio was 50-50..... but thats a lot higher outside shots than in the past. I would say 60% of our baskets were made from inside 7 feet and maybe half were layup/putbacks

Fans have been clamouring for us to shoot the outside shot..... well we did, but it was not like we did not sore from the inside. IMO, we have a better chance this year of beating St Joes/Prov/Iowa/Gtown because we have the potential to hit the outside shot...... but we have to make them.

Let me see if I understand this. We lost to a bunch of 6'4" guys? Am I in a 1960s time warp? I hope that I wake up from this, find Rod Serling smiling at me and learn that it did not happen.
