there is no right answer. I am a huge college hoops fan and I agree nothing matches the excitement of making the Tourney but, it's been great to see the success of other sports at Fairfield, lacrosse especially. Not a huge fan, I was at four home games last year and they were all a blast, including tailgating. Can you compare that to the atmosphere of AHY when we hosted BC two years ago? Maybe yes maybe no. Having multiple teams nationally ranked is quite nice. Should men's hoops dominate the MAAC consistenly, will they be ranked? Probably not. Or not nearly as high as lacrosse got (already watchers are calling for a potential top 10 ranking next season) or soccer is getting. No point here other than to say I feel we may get more press from hoops but having a successful "program" across the board has its merits, too.
