Subject: Northeastern loses to Bentley 82-76
In reply to: JoeStag 's message, "Iona beats Megar Evans 99-29 ???" on 09:20:11am 11/13/05 Sun,

I know Bentley is pretty good, but it raises the question if Northestern is better off playing a game like this and losing, or playing a team like Iona did vs Medgar Evers and demolishing them. the 3rd option is scrimmages.

Stags choose scrimmages, but I would love to see them play a good team like Univ of Bridgeport. I don't think the blow-out type of game helps.

There should be a Fairfield v. Bridgeport game at the Arena at Harbor Yard to start off the season every year. I think the City of Bridgeport would encourage this and the CT Post and local community would take an interest. Plus the two schools had a great tradition playing each other in the past that dates all the back to our very first basketball season in 1948-49.

The MAAC can only schedule D-1 opponents during regular season.

Argh! Yes, I keep forgetting they are DII. But couldn't we do an open scrimmage?
