Subject: How important is bible study?

Someone once said that Christians over emphasize the bible...he said the trinity does not consist of Father, Son and Holy Bible....but Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Can we maintain a relationship with God outside of the bible? If we are in a part of the world that does not allow bibles, can we still grow in faith? I am not trying to propose any argument agaisnt scriptures but rather trying to find the scriptures proper role in our walk with God. You know in UBF it was all bible study yet many UBF leaders were not filled with the Holy Spirit. Any thoughts?
