Sound like an interesting concept. Turning up on the day and paying. I think it should be a good day. Is anyone else thinking of going? We are. How many dances can a dancer enter into? Can they do as many over different grades?

  - What about that hall near Pacific Fair Broadbeach. Plenty of accommodation for everyone. (NT) -- and close to shopping !!!, 2/03/09 10:34:39am
- We love Chandler! Only the FNQ dancers have to get accommodation. (NT) -- Cheaper for most :-), 2/03/09 3:57:24pm
  - there are some great places/houses to stay at in Lota & Manly ... close by & good prices! (NT) -- Stayed there last year ... very happy!! :), 2/03/09 9:03:19pm
- With the current economic climate lets look at smaller and cheaper even if its just for 1 year. Chandler NEVER fills we are paying for empty seating. Not ideal but a solution even just 1 year down size. Melbourne has it in a school hall why not us? Lets save a bit of money reduce entry fees/door fees if not some of us may have to drop out of Irish dancing (NT) -- It only has to be 1-2 years but think about going smaller and cheaper for venue please, 3/03/09 9:29:45am
  - & then everyone will whinge about the place being too small, the stage too small, the place hot & sticky. we have to FLY to Brisbane, plus pay accommodation, so maybe we can have the state championships in FNQ next year to make it cheaper for us???? (NT) -- like my space :), 3/03/09 3:40:36pm
    - Its not so much making it cheaper for 1 group in particular. It needs to be scaled down in costs so Irish dancing can continue. I know as a parent that even though my child gets great places if push came to shove I would weigh up the overall cost. Maybe cut down number of classes. Maybe not attend as many local competitions. When it comes to putting food on the table or paying all this then all aspects of a families expenses have to be looked at unfortunately (NT) -- we need to start thinking a bit smaller and cheaper so we all can afford to let our kids continue. I am an Irish Dancer from Ireland and I am moving to Brisbane after Christmas. I have not danced for 2 years and will probably not return to competition. I am 24 years old and as I miss dancing I would love to be part of a school again. I hope to sit the T.C.R.G in 2010/11 and would love to be part of a school that could help me prepare. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

OXENHAM CONCERT CHANGE OF VENUE!Due to severe storm damage, -- the PCYC Arana Hills is now a Disaster Centre, therefor the Oxenham Irish Dance Concert has had to change venues to: "Mitchelton State Primary School Auditorium" Glen Retreat Road. Just wanted to congratulate the Oxenham school for their lovely performance at the Queen St mall today. Anyone have any ideas on how to get numbers back up in Irish dancing? Another 2 families (4 open dancers) quit/retired at our dance school last night. We need some publicity. Will the newspapers and TV (news) be invited to the premiership to give our top 5 nationals dancers a bit of credit outside our little Irish dance world? Could be a good opportunity AIDA.
