Mike, those letters you saw designate h for high and l for low. Those are your jet screws. you should not have to adjust the high speed jet as it is pre-set at the factory and you could end up melting your pistons if set to high. The low speed jet however, can be adjusted. To do this, first turn the low speed jet screw all the way in and back out the screw between 1-1/4 and 1-1/2 turns. You will know when it is set properly by a simple test under load. A sudden burst of throttle and the motor boggs down like its ready to stall means that you have it set to lean. Remember a little is good does not mean a lot is better.
