This could be caused by one or both of two issues. Your snow machine is carbureted. Being a few years old it likely is fairly dirty. Either the throttle passages in your carburetor are clogged or they just need to be adjusted. If you attempt to do so yourself don't confuse the Idle adjustment with the high flow adjustment.
i suggest looking up your snow machine model on the web and getting a diagram of the carb
