I just went through this myself when I rebuilt my motor. The crank (believe it or not) is lubricated by the oil in the gasoline! If your 680 is 2 stroke than you will need no oil. But to be sure call a polaris dealer. If your motor is a rotory motor there could be oil in the rotory portion of the case.
