My only complaint with the "New Adventures" was some of the scenes didn't have many hotspots. But other that that it was worth playing (especially since it's free!) and it was great to see my old favorite characters again.

But Zak 1 had more detail, a better story, more jokes, more ideas, more scenes, more characters, a better plot, it was longer, with more surprises, better puzzles, it was more popular, more flexible, it made a bigger impact on people, it had more atmosphere, more replay value, it was technically more advanced, appealed to a wider audience, ran faster, gave more control, had more tension, more fun, had a greater influence, more company backup, better music, more locations, was more sophisticated, operated on more levels, and had more hotspots.

But other than that there isn't much difference between them. :)
