I agree, I prefer the 16 color version too. The game was designed for very few colors, and they would have designed it differently if it was meant for 256 colors. To me, the 16 color version has a clean look that is just perfect. I also just love how it fits into almost zero space on the computer.

To get a copy, the best idea is to try eBay. The 'classic adventures' box sometimes comes up for sale, and this includes the 16 color Zak plus other classics. If you want the super-low resolution version (the one that is VERY VERY blocky) then search on Google for the C64 version, and you will need a C64 emulator.
