Regine fans talk-

Can somebody please enlighten me? What's wrong with speaking English with an American accent? In my opinion, Regine's efforts in trying to speak English well should be commended, and not criticized. I don't see anything wrong with her speaking English with an American twang. But if Regine were to speak English with a Filipino, or as choey_qt wrote below: "barok" accent, I certainly would not hesitate to recommend that Regine take speech lessons. If you don't want Regine to speak English with an American accent, then how do you want her to speak? With a British accent? Or Australian perhaps?

Agree! I just don't know what you guys wanted more from Regine...
She's has and still doing her best in everything that she does and
still you guys are complaining? What accent would you like her to
have? German? British? Are you having a hard time understanding
American accent...*sigh*

I am aware English is spoken with various accents. I live in New York and you could just imagine how many nationalities are represented here and speak English in their own accents. I just couldn't understand why some Filipinos have to be very particular about accents. Most Americans I've met here don't even care what kind of accent you have as long as you get your point across clearly. Hopefully fans will appreciate Regine for her talent, the good person that she is, the joy she brings to our lives through her songs and her movies, and stop picking on the way she speaks English.

Comment on her speaking: We know that Regine hadn't finish school.
> She don't like it, she tells vulgarly. But this did not hinder her

> ordinary Filipino, does. She developed the accent that is really

>speak in English, do you have the American accent or the Filipino
accent? Mind this people, she's not only delighting her Filipino fans but
> also her fans from around the world. Would you think it would help
> her propel into international scene if she'll have that "barok"
> English speaking Filipinos are famous for?

HEY, GUYS!! I think Regine has every right to do anything she likes, SPEAK in whatever "twang" she desires.... Besides, we all have our own rights to improve ourselves, whatever it takes... We might as well just ACCEPT and RESPECT other people's prerogative to improve their craft... AND JUST A QUESTION, so what if REGINE HAS A CERTAIN "TWANG"? Let her be and better yet, think this: "WE ARE ALWAYS MINDING OTHER PEOPLE'S BUSINESS.. IS IT NOT TIME TO JUST APRRECIATE FELLOW HUMAN BEINGS OUT THERE WHO MEANS NO HARM BUT TO ENTERTAIN AND MAKE US FORGET OUR DAILY COMPLEXITIES IN LIFE... REGINE IS STILL ON TOP.... SHE STILL REIGNS SUPREME... WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT, THATS A FACT OF LIFE...

I guess, people who criticizes REGINE NEEDS MORE ATTENTION than SHE DOES...
AFTER ALL, APEKTADO SILA..

"GET OUT OF THE CRAB MENTALITY PEOPLE..." ITS TIME TO MOVE ON AND JUST BE HAPPY... You will see that there is a better world for you out there if only you know how to appreciate and feel appreciated in return..

bye....GOD bless us all..

Hello to everybody.

When some of us supported the suggestion of one member
here regarding Regine to take speech classes, it
doesn't mean we're insulting her in any way.
Understand what we are trying to point out before you
judge us. You're right, Waddz, speaking the English
language is not a gauge whethere a person is
intelligent or not. However, we do not question the
intelligence of Regine. She is intelligent in her
chosen field. She is hardworking and loves what she's
doing. She might not have the college diploma but
she's on top and knows what she wants and where she's
heading. She cares to those who are less fortunate
than her and doesn't step on other people's toes.
That's intelligence with a heart. That's the
intelligence that Regine has. What we only suggested
is for her to take speech class if she wants to
improve on that aspect. Nobody said that she's not
intelligent.

C'mon, guys! Hindi naman tayo nagpo-post dito just to
praise Regine. We're also here to let her know of our
concerns and help her improve but take note, hindi
kami nagmamarunong. When we said she needs to take
speech lesson, that is to improve her manner of
speaking. Hindi namin siya iniinsulto. We're not
deaf and blind to negative comments against her manner
of speaking, take note, manner of speaking.

If we have true friends around us, they will tell us
things to help us improve and not keep quiet because
of fear of hurting us. Would you prefer people around
you to tell you that you're okay and that nothing's
wrong with you. Although, the truth is otherwise? I
won't consider them friends at all! All of us here
will agree that we are friends of Regine who only want
the best for her. And if we can help her, why don't
we do it here where she has access? This is a forum,
guys, and yet what some of us here wants are
everything good about Regine. In a forum, we can say
what we want (positive and negative) as long as we're
not insulting anybody. Is telling your friend, "i
suggest that you take up speech lessons to help you
improve", insulting? Think, guys. This is a forum
where everybody's free to share their views and ideas.

No offense meant to anybody..

Melissa

You said it well Melissa. We are not blind fans here.
When we voice out our opinion, that is out of concern
for Regine. I still remember when Ronnie Henares said
that he hired for Regine a road manager or staff who
graduated from a reputable school in order to harness
Regine's english. Was that an insult? Of course not.
Siyempre di naman pwedeng kanta ka lang ng kanta at di
ka na magsasalita. And with Regine's caliber, she has
fans from A to D crowd so she must know how to be
flexible. I also remember when Regine sang People in
Ryan Cayabyab's now defunct show Ryan Ryan Musikahan,
he advised Regine to control her voice so as not to
sound as if she was shouting. Do you think that was an
insult and Regine felt bad about it? I don't think so.
In fact, with the passage of time, Regine has learned
to control her voice and use it appropriately.

I admire people who take suggestions and keep on
improving themselves despite being successful already.
Regine is one of them and that is why I still admire
her since Bagong Kampeon days.
