I also have a journalism degree and do believe KDKA breached journalism ethics if they asked for the event to be re-created.

The initial coin toss, the one actually planned, was the promotions ploy, and does not violate journalism standards. But to ask that it be re-created so to appear as though it was the initial event, is wrong.
