Subject: Jonathan's "probationary" status?

Apparently, Jonathan was a "probationary" angel...just curious does anyone know where in the series this was discussed? I've seen the pilot numerous times and don't recall it being addressed. I'm assuming it must have been sometime during the first season but can't seem to remember which episode.

No, it wasn't. Mike simply made the fact of Jonathan being on probation for the series' premise. That's all he needed. Some facts about his mortal life on Earth as Arthur Thompson are revealed in the "Keep Smiling" episode with Dorothy McGuire.
