Subject: This episode blew me away

"Sail Away" from season two...Wow! This story brought everything that was great about this series into one episode. The ending was predictable but nonetheless effective and poweful. When Jonathan tells Frank, "In His Kingdom...ALL things are possible" I got goosebumps. What a truly beautiful story. If you haven't seen this one recently, get the season two box set and relive it or watch it for the first time. Why can't they make television like this anymore?

Filmed at Morro Bay in 1986. To answer your second question; Michael Landon was the only man in the entertainment business who deeply cared about America and its people.

rick:

thanks for the location info...i was curious about that...I kinda of thought it might have been Washington state or Oregon...kind of had that pacific northwest look to it. I also liked how after Frank runs down to the beach to join Jenna, Jonathan just looks up at the heavens, smiles and nods his head, as if to say, "mission accomplished, Boss." The emotion and joy in Landon's face as he was doing this scene had to have been very real indeed.

We could definately use more like Michael Landon in the entertainment industry...I know Landon had many children; I wonder if any of them will take up his legacy of quality, family-oriented programming?

Thanks for this great website...I enjoy spending a little time here each day.
