Reviews of REIGNING STILL

I watched the concert last night. Well, Regine is
fantastic as usual, but I still like R2 and Retro
more.
The opening number is great and so with her number
with Sarah, Sheryn and Kyla. Sarah is good but I
noticed that she had a hard time sustaining her voice
sa mga biritan. Parang humihina. Sheryn can reach high
notes but honestly I dont like her voice that much.
Parang ipit. Kyla was the best of them all. She
stunned the audience with her performance. She really
upstaged Sarah and Sheryn. Her number was the most
applauded among the three of them. But, of course, the
Songbird is still the best. What separates Regine from
the other divas is that she can sustain her voice
kahit pa napakataas. After that number, Regine
said,"ang tawag diyan ay pamatay medley." I also like
her other numbers like the one she did with San Miguel
Chorale, her Michael Jackson Medley and of course
Shine, her finale. I thought her rendition of Shine
that night would not be as good as the recorded
version. Kasi katatapos niya lang ng Michael Jackson
Medley with matching dance number pa talaga to the
delight of the audience. So I expected that she was
already tired. But I was wrong and her rendition of
Shine was fantastic and for me was even better that
what we always here in the commercial. Ibang klase
talaga at nakaupo pa siya sa stage ng kinanta niya.
Many fans were still singing Shine while going out of
Araneta. Lalo na ang mga gays na ginagaya pa ang
pagbirit ni Regine. Tawanan talaga.

I was really touched when she thanked all the people
who helped her achieve her dreams to become a
successful singer. She couldnt control her tears when
she thanked her parents and the people who keep on
supporting her. Then she sang My Miracle, I believe I
can fly, and I believe, while her pictures since
childhood were being flashed on the big screen.

The audience was very responsive and Regine was even
game and funny with her spiels. One gay shouted, "I
love you Regine." She replied, "Thank you, sana naging
lalake ka." Tawanan talaga ang mga audience.

The numbers that I didn't like that much were her the
medley of tuwing umuulan, pangako at kung maibabalik
ko lang. The last one was fine with me because I
rarely hear her sing this song, but the other two
parang nakakasawa na.

I was just sad that the Big Dome was not really full.
Siguro mga 80% lang. Maybe this is due to the recent
typhoons that struck our country. Siyempre iyong iba
di pa nakakarecover. 2nd to the high cost of the
tickets. The prices of the tickets were almost double
as compared with her R2K concert. 3rd is that November
and December are concert months. Napakadaming
ngkoconcert and the price of the ticket is a lot
cheaper than that of Regine's concert. I think it
would be better that she hold her next major solo
concert sometime April or May.

But still, congratulations to the Songbird. You're
still the best kahit pa anong sabihin ng iba.

Nakakatuwang isipin that after all the not-so-good comments on the
first night of the concert, the second night appeared to be a big
bang. It was totally in contrast to the negative feedback by the
viewers on the first night. Araneta was full. What a spectacular
concert talaga! It was really worth watching. Now after hearing
Kyla, Sarah, and Sheryn sang, I can say na they are indeed very
promising "birit" singers BUT it will take great lenghts to approach
Regine's caliber in terms of vocal prowess when it comes
to "biritan" to the max. I think Regine has time and time again
demonstrated that when it comes to biritan, she is still the number
one talaga.

Reviews of REIGNING STILL

Subject: Reigning Still (saturday)

That was my first time to go to Araneta coliseum.
So I went out early not to miss the show. However,
there was no traffice on edsa and thanks to filipino
time. I could watch all of the show. :)

I was sitting on patron B-13(Thanks Joan!!!). Even
though it was patron seat it was very far from the
stage. Before I only watched concerts at Onstage,
I expected more close look.

At 8:30, there are still many vacant seats. I heard
from Joan that there weren't so many audience on
friday. I worried a little bit since it might bring
down Regine. However, in 30 mintues, I hardly see
vacant seats. Araneta coliseum was really full of
audience. I hope to see other RVML members but it
was almost impossible. But I saw Anton(?) who went
to davao before. I still don't know why last rows
of Patron(a) seats were vacant.

While waiting for the show, I watched new music video
and tv commerical and bought a photo book. Quite
expensive but quite good too. But I hope that it would
be better if there were old pictures too.

The show start as Phantom of the Opera. Of course the
magic was very much well known one but it was very
amazing Regine did it during the show.

Then it began to raining with a song;Tuwig Umulan(right??)
And Regine kept on three or four more songs straight.
It was very amazing. :)

When Sarah, Kyla, and Sheryn joined the show. People
really got excited. Sarah might be Regine in 1987.
But sound system was not tuned enough for their voice
range.

When Ariel came back to back stage, Regine tapped his
shoulder and said, 'my ex'. Maybe She is ok now and maybe
not.. anyway that's not my problem. :)

Sam Miguel Chorale(?), They were too many and the sound
was very vague. It would be better they are half or 1/3
of the members.

From the beginning till the end, Regine was really devote
herself to the show. It was really amazing and my companion
who doesn't know Regine also got impressed to her
performance. (That's my favorite hobby. :)

In the end of the show, her pictures from her very beginning
were showing on the back of main stage. It was very fun
to see her old pictures. I notice that I saw her pictures
since 1994. It has been long but wonderful 10 years for me
since then. Regine was very cute when she was holding a paper
on which her name is written in chinese characters. :)

I watche her concert since 2002 but this is the best one.
Even though last concert Songbird sings was really poor
IMHO. This show is really elaborated. I can feel it and
others also can (and must) feel it too. :)

As a curtain call, she sang Michael Jackson's. It was really
amazing too. I thought she has no more energy after the
long and powerful show. But she still got the energy....
That's why I like her.

This show will be the last show for me since I'm leaving
Philippines soon. But I'm really happy to watch the show
and will be one of my best experiences in this country. :)
