That was my frustration last night. Regine deserved a standing ovation for her number with the young divas and the one with San Miguel orchestra. I stood up applausing for such great numbers together with few people. Tsk! Regine even joked that something like this "bored ba kayo? wala kayong karea-reaksyon. nagpakita na 'ko ng tyan (or pusod), cleavage,wala pa rin." I think (I hope I'm wrong) she was disappointed by the way the crowd reacts last night. Very stiff ang crowd though there are those shouting and even saying "We love you so much!" or "ang sexy mo!", the appreciation of her performance is different. To those who will be watching tonight, please give her the standing ovation she truly deserves. It's not too late. You have tonight to let Regine hear your great appreciation of her as a singer and the voice who continues to serenade our lives. Please lang.. make her happy tonight.. No offense, guys.. I envy you guys. So many of us out here are dying to see this show. Its TORTURE. I'm just glad that my "Covers" CD has finally arrived to tide me over this weekend. I'll post an album review in the next few days. To all of those who are watching the concert...Please don't be KJ... I've noticed that in Regine's concerts a lot of people just sit there and watch like they're in church or something. Parang mga tuod. SHOW YOUR APPRECIATION! Stomp! Shout! Stand up and dance! Scream! Sing along! Clap! Wave your hands! Bring some of those neon light thingies. Make some noise for Regine. Show her your love and support. Its all good. :) Regine used to be called the "Standing Ovation Queen". What I DON'T want to see or hear... "Bulaklak", "Pamela", "Otso-otso", "Spaghetti" and other novelty songs. I hope that they remove this from all concert acts. Its ok to see this in noontime variety shows but I think its such a waste to do these types of acts in venues such as the ARANETA Colliseum with a full band and everything. [> [> Subject: Observations on the Reigning Still Concert Author: m.i.b. -more fan reviews [Edit] Date Posted: 08:00:53 12/05/04 Sun Date: Sat Dec 4, 2004 1:25 am Subject: some observations in the Reigning Still Concert i had a great time last night at regine’s concert, though i have some unsolicited constructive criticisms: 1. i felt “bitin.” i didn’t want to leave the place. i was left expecting she would be back for an encore as she had done in her previous concerts. 2. i noticed that the chorale group which sang with her “i believe i can fly” was not properly introduced and credited (was it the San Miguel Chorale?). 3. her repertoire included songs (fast songs) which did not have that much appeal to the audience. i didn't see the audience dancing even when she was already dancing on stage. (in her previous concerts, the audience would really dance). 4. the sound was too loud. i don't know anything about the technical aspect of a concert production but i think the sound last night was an "overdo." i could see some people in the audience covering their ears (particularly in the part where regine sang with sarah, kyla and sheryn, and also in her number with francis m.). but then again, i am a reginian, kahit ano pa ang mangyari. and that is why inspite of these observations, i truly enjoyed her concert!
