Usually. My concern is GMA-7s reasons for insisting contestants have no one as their manager. Because I think GMA-7 needs a few qualified ones themselves. >;-} + + + + + + + + + + + + + + RONNIE Liang, a 21-year-old BS Education student from Pampanga who was supposed to be the 8th grand finalist in Pinoy Pop Superstar, was disqualified by GMA 7 when it was discovered in his 4th week as a contender that he has an existing three-year management contract with one George Roca. It's specifically stated in the rules that contestants should not be affiliated with any outside managers. Liang withheld from GMA 7 the information that he has a manager until it was exposed — thus, his disqualification. Hosted by Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez, Pinoy Pop Superstar is now in its second year to tap undiscovered aspirants whose talent for singing can be their stepping stone to fame and fortune, like what happened to first winner Jonalyn Viray. Despite Lian's disqualification, the competition among the Pinoy Pop Superstar grand finalists — Harry, Gerald, Aicelle, Irra, Denver, Elise and Rosemarie — officially began with the first Pinoy Pop Superstar regional show held in SM Cebu last Saturday. Yes. I know.. Shocking. Its true. They did some Korean thing that seemly was more of a promotion for a GMA-7 show on another time slot. Ano ba yan.. Tsk. Whatever Regine was wearing at the opening was the most unflattering thing I ever seen any women or any man dressed in. Her dress was in serious need of an oriental belt. Regine was in a korean dress of some sort but .. don't ask. Yet she did regained her midas look right after that tragedy with a very nice looking gold(?) dress. How does she do it? Look so great looking in some dresses you almost can forget what she wore for the opening number that night. I'm sure all you fashion gay types watching were horrified. Even my cat fainted.. CONTESTANT GETS THE BOOT- And then suddenly PPS had something happen out of the blue. One of the contestants got kicked out for having a manager. WAT?! Its one of the rules. Maybe the rule was made by her ex-handler there? Rule would make sense if I thought GMA had the contestants best interests at heart. But knowing how Regine herself seems to get abused.. and reading about how the last winner got pushed into changing her god-given looks by some irresponsible manager there.. I guess they really didn't think her voice had what it takes or something. But she won. And she earned a recording contract by winning. I guess if she had her own manager already he/she would have argued about having surgery done to her face if only because it could have gotten her voice altered. You or any other member of this group can do that by writing me directly at- musicmanjunph@yahoo.com mmJun ;-) If I can handle all the spam and worms and viruses I dealt with in the past I would have no problem getting spammed by fans asking about this kind of important thing. I'm as good and useful as the motivation of the people who push me. I rarely get annoyed at being reminded to do some things about/for the right reasons. It just depends what its about. And the schedule for PPS Year 3 is definitely a major concern for us in the PPS group as well as for Regine fans in other groups. Any ideas about who to reach or how to go about geting the information in other matters is welcomed.
