yup fella Reginizens.

This album is a totally different Regine this time.

I made a quick rundown as soon as I bought my own copy. Wala ung usual power ballad i used to associate with her.

But I need some clarifications. I got a little confused somewhere.

Covers 2 was publicized as a compilation of cover songs sung by foreign male artists (as opposed to Covers 1 which was an all-male OPM singers.)

Forgive me but some of the songs I heard (at least as far as I can recall) is not exactly "male".

The first time I heard "Head Over Feet" was from Alannis Morisette's "Jagged Little Pill" album in 1996 and I have always associated the song to be originally her (that is she sang it first) and if I'm not mistaken in reading the credits, she wrote it.

Another song is "Xanadu". The only singer I can recall singing it was Olivia Newton John in early 80's (whew, my age is showing hehehe).

So I was a bit surprise that these were part of Covers 2.

Can somebody clarify these for me.

One more thing, in my emails in RVML and in some articles containing the cuts that will made it in Covers 2, "Piano In The Dark" was among them so I was a bit surprise it was not on the final layout. Why? I wanted to hear Regine's rendition on this one since two other OPM divas sang it- Nina on her "Nina LIVE!" and Jinky Vidal of Freestyle on her solo album "Jinky". Jinky's version is way far far better than that of Nina. So why is it this one was not included when initial lists showed otherwise.

Packaging wise, mas gusto ko ang Covers 2 than Covers 1. Much better.

Me napansin lang me guys and it bothered me a bit.

Why is it that wala man lang lyric sheet for the benefit of those who didn't know much of the album's repertoire (which I'm sure marami-rami din). Tinipid din ata ito sa pictorial shots.

Mostl, ung thank yous nya, para minadali. Was it me, or was I sensing something amiss.

Just finished listening to Covers 2. All I can say is that this is a different album but a really great one. It shows that Regine is not only an exceptionally talented singer but a true artist as well.

I agree. For the first time, I really heard a totally different Regine Velasquez this time. It is a deviation from the usual diva stuff.

The arrangement alone is entirely different. It sounded cooler, classy and breezy. Easy listening. Something you'd want to hear and hum along while unwinding your nights away.

Basta, this is not your usual Regine Velasquez thing that most fans associate her to be.

It's radically different but... cool and easy.

That's what I call artistry and genuine versatility.
