Been away for quite sometime. Busy maintaining my own websites as well as rebuilding my own Regine-dedicated website. version 4.0 will be available very soon. Anyways just got a copy of Jonalyn Viray's "On My Own" album and I personally believe, the girl did some justice to her rendition of "Di Na Mag-iisa", Darna's OST. I also got a copy of "Tunog Kapuso, The Best of GMA's Themes" and it includes some of the hottest OPM sounds like Mulawin's "Ikaw Nga". Which comes to my mind, NANGHIHINAYANG ako Regine didn't have the opportunity to record some of the best tunes she sung for GMA-7 like GMA-Ayala Millennium Celebration "Written In The Sands",GMA Kapuso Theme, "Tunay Na Kulay Ng Buhay", both fortunately not included in GMA TV Theme album. However, PPS theme song, "My Miracle" and Darna's "Di Na Mag-iisa" both made it on GMA soundtrack. PPS Theme were recorded by PPS Finalist(which was included in PPS commemorative album and has Jonalyn has her own solo version in her own debut album)while "Di Na Mag-iisa" appeared both in Jonalyn's & GMA Theme albums. I wonder why Karylle(MC Universal), SouthBorder, Jerome John Hughes and Kyla(EMI)are able to have a proper arrangements with their respective record companies, and thus able to record with outside entities BUT not Regine. I'm sure REGINE would have wanted to, and I know to that as far as she is concerned, they've had an agreeable partnership with GMA management. So how come Regine wasn't able to record outside of Viva??? Beginning to feel the problem was with Viva. Notice how Regine concerts and shows are no longer produced nor promoted by Viva concerts? I'm just feeling sad our own Songbird Regine was not the one who recorded "Di Na Mag-iisa" and "My Miracle". Sayang yung opportunities what those song could make. Enuff said. Look at her recent projects--including Reigning Still, and Queens on Fire; CDs: including Covers, and Pangarap Ko'y Ibigin Ka--these all seem to lack very strong concepts, almost so-so in quality. If at all, it didn't improve her craft in music. All were almost hurriedly done/produced and could have been improved much more. It's too "on the safe side". She needs guidance in her business decisions--new writing partners, new approach to music, new creative pool, etc. At this stage of her career she can create a fad or a revolution and people will give her props for it because she is who she is. Apparently, she's doesn't seem to want to be in the driver seat, but rather one of its passengers. Sayang! I wouldn't be surprised that if ever she decides to mount a big anniversary concert next year, it'll be another "ow, seen that". I really hope not. Think, Regine. Think and grow! (Am I harsh? There may be a personal red line going betweeen Regine and Viva that I'm sure really isn't due to any fault of hers but may be unavoidable. Regine sticking with GMA-7 to do PPS may have something to do with it among a few other things. Don't forget how Viva had a falling out with GMA-7 about SFAS and STARSTRUCK that caused Viva to do SFASIAM with channel 2 and caused Viva to keep on putting Sarah Geronimo with that station as well. I could go on with a few other possible reasons but I'll skip them over to just post about who is the caused for all this unsettling music career moves and stuff about our idol. Its all because of the meddling actions of that media publicist, practitioner, TV host and sip-sip columnist Boy Abunda. Who been trying to undermine and manipulated the career and personal life of music song- bird Regine Velasquez ever since she left her former previous managers to do things her way on her own. I thought I'll save some space this time and cut to the chase and tell it as it really is. There's more than enough information about that person and his doings in many of the past postings anyway. Deal with this problem person most of all and I'm betting most of the observations and complains fans have about what isn't working and what isn't going right for your music artist (and many others as well) will probably end right there when his reign of influence and media terrors ends too. Otherwise, get set for many years of wishful but dissapointing thinking and dreaming because that's what Boy Abunda seems to be all about- destroying pinoy dreams.. Including his own soon enough. That's what I think.
