"Jonalyn Viray admits to getting a nose job"
By JOJO PANALIGAN ( MB.com )

mmJun editorial :
If you won on the show. You won because you were the
best singer. Is GMA-7 talent managers thinking more than
just that? You can only win if you are what they want you
to be for their music record company? And if you don't
then you won't win? Hey, I wanna talk to Regine's manager
about it. (Not with Raul. Since he will do what Cacai tells
him to do. Right or wrong.) There may be something going on
with PPS that can be considered wrong, Regine fans.. And I
have told you all before I'm not holding back anything on
account of the Songbird. I'm not a fanatic for her right
or wrong. What was always special about Regine was how
she always wants to do what is right. And this could be
a case where there is something wrong she wouldn't really
be aware of. This changing to suit the GMA-7 managers is
looking very, very wrong. The artist is lucky if in fact
her voice is still the same. For the record.. Regine did
not have a nose job. Anyone saying otherwise gets the
"Easy person to fool & believe anything they are told
by Boy Agenda " award! - mmJun >;-}

I did it for career growth," justified "Pinoy Pop Superstar"
champion Jonalyn Viray to Manila Bulletin when asked if she
had a nose job in lieu of the release of her debut album
"On My Own" under GMA Records.

Jenalyn wanted it or was pushed into it?! And if she won
on PPS why would she worry about looks?! Its a music
career not a movie career! -the shame of our showbiz..
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Only 15-year-old Jonalyn is the second recent singing
champion to admit availing of cosmetic surgery. Last year,
"Born Diva" champion Raki Vega, along with other contestants,
also consented to going under the knife on national TV
in accordance to that show’s concept.

Jonalyn revealed that the idea was broached to her by GMA-7
shortly after she won. Though hesitant initially, Jonalyn
finally gave her go signal upon being told that the job
would be rendered by no less than the Belo Medical Group.

Regine's ex-handler having something to do with it no doubt.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

"It took just about an hour to do and has completely healed
at this point," she said.

When asked if it has affected her singing voice, she
categorically said no and pointed to tracks in her album
as proof. "I can still reach the high notes in ‘Run To You’
and ‘My Miracle’ and it has, I think, even helped my lower
register as evidenced in ‘Di Na Mag-iisa,’ the theme song
from ‘Darna,’ that starts out almost in whisper," she said.

Shame on GMA-7!! Shame on the former handler of the
songbird and especially BOY AGENDA, who does not
believe in body changes for himself but because
he is a paid-for publicist for BELO he pushes
young native singers into doing it. ;-(
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

What else would she like fixed if given the chance?

"My height kasi flat five feet lang ako. Pero wala na
yatang pag-asa yon kasi wala pang operasyon na naiimbento para
pampatangkad," she quipped sending press people into stitches.

Currently in the thick of promoting her first recorded output,
Jonalyn is also banking on the music video of her carrier
single "Close To Where You Are" to win the nod of people
particularly the young music audience. Directed by Louie Ignacio,
the video features a cameo by Asia’s Songbird, Regine Velasquez,
who, by doing so, lends to speculations that Jonalyn has won
the approval of being heiress-apparent to the superstar’s
throne.

Give Regine fans a break.. That was a dumb thing to say.
This article is being pushed by Manila Bulletin. And that's
where GMA-7 managers connected also to Boy ABunda are
getting their press releases out. RV Fans should be
feeling insulted by this kind of media manipulation.
If the girl is good then she'll succeed by that alone.
The problem is it appears Regine's ex-handler in GMA-7
and Boy Abunda are both being called talent managers but
don't seem to really know how to do the work of a real
one. I'm watching them closely. And so far I passed my
toally shocked stage and now moving into an disgusted
stage from their brand of mismanaging our artists! ;-(

Other tracks in "On My Own" are "If We Just Hold On,"
"Kung Di Mo Na Mahal," "Hold Me Now," "Get Here" and
"It Might Be You."

Jonalyn Viray! PPS!

We saw Jonalyn Viray when she won the grand prize
in "Pinoy Pop Superstar" at the Big Dome. She was
just a wisp of a girl then who seemed so nervous.
Now, she launches her debut album, "On My Own," at
Hard Rock Cafe for GMA Records and she exudes more
charm and confidence. She’s lucky to have "Close to
Where You Are" as her carrier single. It’s a beautiful
song written by Danny Tan and it has great melody and
inspiring lyrics that, properly promoted, it can surely
be a big hit. What is her edge over the other champions
of singing contests? "I think it’s my strength and
determination to make it," she says. "Lamang ko rin sa
kanila that GMA Network is backing me up and have
gotten me the best composers for my solo album."

Jonalyn’s winning at the contest also paved the way for
her reconciliation with her estranged mom, who left her
to her dad when she was very small. They met each other
again at "The S Files" and Jonalyn forgave her mom for
all the days that they were separated from one another.
Her mom has left back for Bicol where she now lives and
Jonalyn will surely send her a copy of her first album.

Her album has ten good songs and includes her rendition
of her winning pieces in the contest: "It Might Be You,"
"Run to You," "Get Here" and Raul Mitra’s endearing theme
song for "Pinoy Pop Superstar," "My Miracle." The other cuts
are her version of the Darna theme song, "Di Na Mag-iisa,"
Tagalog songs "Kung Di Mo Na Mahal" and "Ikaw Lang sa Akin,"
plus Vehnee Saturno’s "If We Just Hold On," another potential
hit. The album comes with a VCD of the music video of
"Close to Where You Are," directed by Louie Ignacio.
