The music of Sitti
Thanks to Sitti Navarro, there's a new type of music that the Pinoy
music lovers are listening to, no longer just pop and rock. While
bossa nova music may be alien sounding, more Pinoys can now
appreciate it. And because of Sitti, other artists who had embraced
bossa nova music like Agot Isidro, Sophia, and Mocca, also got
noticed in the musical genre.
Sitti is flattered that she is being called the bossa nova queen. "I
am happier that Pinoys have come to appreciate bossa nova music and
that more people are now aware of this genre. I sure hope that
Pinoys will also continue to appreciate standards and jazz."
Sitti is having a major show at the Captain's Bar of Mandarin
Oriental Hotel on October 7 and 13 titled "Sitti...Close to You" at
8:30 p.m., produced by Kuh Ledesma Presents and Music Museum
Production. This is a night of relaxing music as Sitti presents a
repertoire of hits done by The Carpenters, Sergio Mendez and Burt
Bacharach. She will also be singing OPM hits of the divas but given
a bossa nova twist. She will also be doing the most requested tracks
from her debut album titled "Cafe Bossa."
Her special guests are Mark Bautista and Joaquin. The show is
directed by Calvin Neria, from the script of Noel Ferrer, with
musical direction by Chito Servañes. Robin wants to make Regine his
2nd wife?
The Muslim religion Islam allows a Muslim man to have as many as
five wives but how come Robin Padilla has only one wife and has yet
to have a second wife?
"I don't want to be divorced if ever I will have a second wife,"
said Robin at the presscon of "Till I Met You," his reunion flick
with Asia's Songbird Ms. Regine Velasquez. "I was divorced by my
second wife before. I don't want that to happen again."
And if ever there's a chance for him to have a second wife, Robin
has picked Regine as his choice. That is, if Regine would agree to
be his wife. That's why the action star is doing his darndest best
in courting the elusive Songbird, showering her with attention while
they were filming "Till I Met You" on location shoot, amidst the
cool breeze of Tagaytay.
Will his wife Liezel agree that he take a second wife?
"Papayag ho iyon, ayaw lang noon ay girlfriend," said Robin who
seems very certain that Liezel would agree. Under the Islamic law, a
girlfriend is not seen as equal with the wife. "If a man has a
girlfriend, he'd treat her in a special way. But if he were to have
two wives, the wives have equal rights. Kasi ang babae, pag
girlfriend, masyadong…kasi pag-girlfriend, puro palihim. Ayaw ng
Islam ng ganun," said Robin.
So would Regine agree to be her girlfriend or to be her wife?
"We haven't talked about that," Robin said.
So what's the truth regarding the item that he offered Regine
marriage?
"We haven't reached that point. When we were talking about marriage,
she asked me how many wives can a Muslim have. I told her as many as
four. Then she said, hindi ko kaya iyon. Gusto ko ako lang. I didn't
get to offer her marriage so there's a plan B. Plan B is to court
her. Mahabang ligawan. Nagpaparamdam pa rin ako sa kanya," said the
action star.
"I jokingly tell her, will you marry me? I can't be serious with
that right now. I have to prepare for that. Alam ko mababasted ako
sa kanya pag sineryoso ko. Tama na muna ang ganito."
Well, we hate to spoil the fun for Robin, but if we were to read
between Regine's lines in a separate interview, Robin might as well
accept the fact that he's wishing for the moon if he hopes that
Regine will become his girlfriend, much more so, if he's hoping that
she'll agree to be his second wife.
After all, Regine said, she has a boyfriend and it's just a matter
of time before she reveals who he is.

lol.. I seriously doubt that. With the kind of wife he has
I doubt he can ever have two dispite what his religion says.
Besides, he already knows Regine is not like Sharon Cuneta or
Vina Morales and especially Kris Aquino when it comes to men.
Regine is alot smarter and sharper than Boy Abunda or even
her own ex-managers give her credit for. Being one who has
been researching into the truths of her musical past I'm in
the most excellent position these days to know, RVFans. ;-)

Here's another celebrity who doesn't believe in the showbiz saying
that bad publicity is still publicity and that it benefits the
person involved.
This is in reaction to what was written about Iya Villania's alleged
smooching incidents with one, Drew Arellano, at the Fort which
reportedly even stopped motorists; and two, with an ABS-CBN bigwig!
"It's false reporting and it's bad publicity because it's ruining my
name and wholesome image. I don't know whether there are artistas
who would appreciate that kind of publicity not unless they were
asking `gawan mo naman ako ng issue' which is not my case," Iya
lamented.
