TEODORO "Teddy" Benigno, one of the Philippines' most prominent
journalists known for his unrelenting crusades against the excesses
of those in power, died Friday at the age of 81.

Benigno, who also served as press secretary to former President
Corazon Aquino, succumbed to liver cancer, his family said.
