" ICE CREAM PLUS MORE "
by Ernie and Arnold
( Not Ernie and Bert no more. hehe..)

February got a little colder and warmer as well when the
sales force of Nestle Ice Cream and Chilled Division Sales
Force of Nestle Philippines held a grand sales convention
to mark their remarkable achievements in the ice cream and
chilled industry at the new MMLDC Foundation, Inc.

Dubed "T-3", the day-long event consisted of a Holy Mass and
an adventure challenge climaxed by a steaming hot musical
extravaganza in the evening at the center's rain forest
area.

Providing warmth to the cool evening were the fiery presentations
and speeches of the sales achievers plus the equally hot numbers
of Asia's diva Regine Velasquez, Christine Bersola, the Company
and Time and a Half band; with Edu Manzano as emcee.

Delo Gold Launch in the Philippines

Caltex (Philippines), Inc. (CPI), a ChevronTexaco company, launched
the new Delo Gold and Delo Silver last May 15, 2003 at The NBC Tent,
Bonifacio Global City, Metro Manila. CPI announced that these
products replace Delo 500 and Delo 200 and have been upgraded to
better meet the changing needs of consumers and increase
Delo’s edge over competition.

The launched was attended by more than 1,000 guests comprised mostly
of Caltex employees, service station dealers, Xpress Lube dealers,
distributors, OEM accounts, fleet customers, and media guests.

Steve Mulvaney, CPI Lubricants Sales & Marketing General Manager,
kicked off the evening by welcoming the large audience. Steve
said, “Caltex is committed to developing high quality products
using advanced technologies to cope with ever-changing market
demands in the Philippines. We continue to upgrade the market-
leading Delo line to strengthen the trust and acceptance that
Filipino diesel engine oil consumers have given to Delo.”

Jim Mc Geehan, CTGL Global Manager for Diesel Engine Oil Technology,
came all the way from North America to lend his support to the
launch. Jim explained the advantages of Delo Gold’s ISOSYN™
technology to an attentive audience and was ably supported in the
technical presentation by Rob Morris, Senior Manager, Technology and
Support, CTGL Asia-Pacific. The marketing presentation made by Jean-
Ernest Maningo, CPI HDEO Category Manager, was highlighted by the
unveiling of the Delo TV commercial and Delo radio jingle. Leonardo
Masilang, Jr., CPI National Lubricants Sales Manager capped off the
presentations by telling the audience to “continue supporting
Delo” and encouraging the distributors and dealers “to
sell Delo in every store and outlet in all cities and
regions throughout the country!”

It was an evening to remember for CPI and all its partners,
especially that popular local singer Ogie Alcasid and “Asia’s
Songbird” Regine Velasquez performed stirring song numbers that
delighted the crowd. This event, made possible through the efforts
of the CPI Lubricants Marketing team led by Jojo Sacdalan, indeed,
made a big impact and was a fitting prelude of greater things to
come for Delo in the Philippines.

The Manila Times earlier reported that a certification
from Nestlé's finance department confirmed Velasquez
underdeclared her income.

Velasquez's lawyer, Chat Zamora, did not divulge
the details of the singer's affidavit.

TV Patrol, however, reported that Velasquez claimed
in her affidavit that she paid the right taxes.

She said P750,000 was deducted from her income
in the Nestle advertisement.

NOTE :
A question was sent to Nestle about why they reported
that Regine underdeclared her income (with them) and
if they bothered to notify Regine about the B.I.R.
inquiry with them. No answer/reply at this time.
