Sir, I respectfully disagree with you.

Burning a flag isn't a sin against you, or this country.

Flags are burned for different reasons for different people. To some burning a flag is the ONLY way to disgard it in a respectful and traditional manner. May I suggest you attend a VFW flag burning ritual, and see what they think about their right to burn a flag.

Do you recall the flag that made the U.S. tour after 9-11, that was from the Trade Center Towers?

I spoke with many who thought that to parade THAT flag about was sin against the flag's tradition(s). To them, it served as evidence that we can be grought to our knees, and that upon retrieval from ground zero, it should have been ceremonial cremated, and replaced.

People burn flags because they are no longer representations of their host, creator, country, in an up or down matter.

If someone thought their country no longer stood for itself, its flag might be burned. If a flag was tattered and torn, and no longer represented it country's actual condition, it might be burned.

I hope you can understand that making laws against this practice, is no less than trying to police people's thoughts.
