- Hi from South Dakota -- Jeanne M. Steinkamp, 12:31:36 01/13/05 Thu [1]
Hey Bill, Happy New Year. your mom wrote me at Christmas and gave us your info with her family update.
Hope you are doing well, and enjoying the experience if that is a possibility. My brother-in-law is in the army reserve but has never been deployed cross seas, so not real familiar with everything you guys go through. Am proud of you and proud to know you.
Ben is a sophmore at college in MN, he loves it and is taking Construction Mgt. Michael and Caitlin are Freshman in HS. same age as Matt. Do you remember your mom babysitting the twins, They still talk about the times there and I have to say Georgia was their favorite....
She was always very good to me too. I miss our friendship since our move and was so happy to hear from her at the Holidays. Well, if you're ever looking for someone new to write to we would love to hear from you. Michael has always been interested in the Military (it scares me) but if you ever wanted to share some experiences I am sure he would like it.
YOu take care, you're in our prayers.
Love the Steinkamp's

To All Who Posted for Bill -- Bill's Family, 11:33:00 12/31/04 Fri [1]
We just wanted to thank every one of you who posted. You've made our son's Christmas away from home a little more closer to home, with all the messages from family, friends, & well wishers. This board was very special to me, I read it daily, and could feel all the prayers and love sent to Bill, and as parents, we both appreciate all the kindness. We instant messaged him the website Christmas Eve, and we kept reading in his words, "thats soo nice, thats so nice Aunt Missy did that for me".
Thanks Michelle, once again, you are the best, and your thoughtfulness with Bill touches our hearts.
To everyone reading this, We wish, a healthy, happy, and more peaceful new year! Bless you all, You've made a soldier in Kososvo feel a lot of love This Christmas, and thats the best gift of all!! Thank you

Hi Bill! -- Jeremy, Amy, and Brandy, 21:33:49 12/22/04 Wed [1]
I played raquetball by myself the other day...it sucked, but I won...21 - 19. It's been lonely hangin out with the ladies all the time. They're always yappin bout nothin. I'm gonna catch you a delicious bass when you get home. See you in the spring buddy. Merry Christmas. -Jeremy
New year's won't be the same without you and Danny this year. It's true...we're always yappin bout nothing, but Jeremy has been such a nice guy to put up with it for 6 mos now. But seriously, he needs to be around some testosterone soon. We've all missed you so much (and Danny too!) and are excited that you'll be coming home soon. Too bad you have to be away during the holidays, but we hope you make the best of it! We'll have a party waiting for you when you get back. Happy Holidays!!!
Take care and best wishes,
Amy and Brandy

Christmas Message -- lois smagac, 15:52:58 12/22/04 Wed [1]
Dear Bill,
I just finished talking to your mom & dad, only to find out that the message Uncle Tom & I sent the other day didn't connect.
We wished you a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.
Also, I heard you had the opportunity to go to Greece. I hope you took advantage of it. It is one the the most beautiful places on the face of the earth. Uncle Frank went there and really enjoyed it. Of course, his favorite place was Alaska. We didn't take any chances, we went in August.
Uncle Tom came by to join in sending this letter to you. Uncle John is on a job assignment in Troy, Michigan - just outside Detroit.
Love,
Grandma & Uncle Tom

- Holiday Prayers -- Linda Wehby, 07:22:52 12/13/04 Mon [1]
Hi Bill, You don't know me, but our mothers are friends and worked together at Fairfield Middle School. My Mom wanted to send a message to you, but doesn't have a computer yet. As a mother myself, I can only imagine the feelings your family must be having while you're away serving our country. Among fear for you safety must be a huge sense of pride.
We just wanted you to know that you are in the prayers of people you don't even know. We'll continue to remember you and your family in our prayers until you are home safely.
~Linda Wehby

My Favorite christmas song had always been "Someday at Christmas" by Stevie Wonder. There Is a line in that song that says "One warm December our hearts will see, a world where men are free" The whole song really is a wish for peace on earth. You have a part in making that possible, Thank You! I hope you will see your family this year and spend Christmas the way it should be.

Bill,
What a caring mom you have! And so nice of her to make a website for Brent as well. Kosovo hasn't been in the news as much as Iraq, so we must admit we don't know exactly how the conditions are there right now. But we sure hope you are staying out of danger. We'll keep you in our thoughts along with all our other service personnel this holiday season. In case you're wondering, we are long-time friends of your Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Brian.

Hmmmmmmm what could I post that would cheer Bill up for the Holidays! I thought of posting your mom but I don't think she wants her face all over the internet. Then I thought maybe your siblings, and then thought....the world isn't ready for Matt yet! :-) Then I thought.......Maggie.......I bet he would like to see Maggie! So here she is in all her doggie glory!

I for one am glad you are there instead of other places, and looking forward to your homecoming. Just think it will be spring and time to take out the bike. Your family will miss you terribly at Christmas, I have a feeling some Wolf's cookies will be heading your way soon after the holidays though......if I know your mom.
Take care.......enjoy the Holidays.......and be safe!

miss you son -- mom, 19:40:56 12/03/04 Fri [1]
Bill, I say good morning to you each morning as I past the computer room. Matt put your picture above on the screen saver. I think of you each day when I put my patriotic shamrock pin on. I think of you each time I go to my car and see my yellow ribbon and nato flag and symbol that represents your peacekeeping mission in Kosovo. I hope your time away will go quickly and I pray that all the missions of our country will succeed, and that men and women will come home to continue to grow old with their families and loved ones. I pray for peace, and I thank God for all his blessings this holiday season. Keep our soldiers, strong, focused, and protected. We love you Bill, and remember we're always here for you, in our thoughts, every day. This Christmas will be hard for all of us, but, remember, we'll be together soon, and that you are in our hearts always. You are truly my gift from God, and I pray he watches over you and your unit and keeps you safe.
Merry Christmas Son, sending you my warmest wishes for a Happy, Healthy, Peaceful New Year, Love, Mom :)
