Date Posted: 10:26:15 11/15/08 Sat

We are going to be having our second "Out of the Dirt" activity at our house on Saturday, November 22nd from 5:30-9pm.

We are going to be doing a pot luck dinner at 5:30 and will start the movie right at 7. We will be showing the movie "Kung Fu Panda." A new movie just released on DVD!

Please RSVP to Jessica O'Connell at jd.oconnell@gmail.com if you WILL BE coming!

We are going to be doing a Thanksgiving pot luck, and we are asking each family to bring one thing for the pot luck as well as drinks for your family. Please let Jessica know what you would like to bring so that we can make sure we have a balanced pot luck. We will provide plates, napkins, and utensils.

Also, don't forget your lawn chairs as we are going to be eating out front on our drive way/street area as well as projecting the movie onto our garage door.

We can't wait to have everyone over and get some time to fellowship out of the dirt!

Hey i'm not sure how many of you know about this but the Marines at 29 palms want to expand their 932-square-mile base and take all of the Johnson Valley OHV Area into their new expansion.
There has been much controversy over this.
District 37 racing and BRP are putting on a "Fun Ride" in order to help save it.
It is very important for the OHV community that it stays open.

Here are 2 links with more information.

Hey guys! Can't wait to see you all this weekend at Matt's Place! Post your name as a reply if you are coming this weekend to Matt's Place/Randsburg (Nov. 9, 10, 11). Also, let us know if you have young kids who will be taking part in the "Jackrabbits" on Saturday afternoon. Some families have Monday and Tuesday off and will be staying for a few extra days of riding!

We will have signs marked off of the 395 by late Thursday evening. For those of you that have never been to Matt's Place it is located about 34 miles north of the 395 & 58 (Kramer Junction) interchange. Once you hit 33 miles you will start to ascend a short grade and there will be a yellow cow sign on the right. Take this road to camp. You can see camp from the 395 (it looks like a giant football field right next to a hill) and again there will be signs up late Thursday night.

See you IN THE DIRT!

God Bless,

As many of you know the Colburn family has some extensive travel needs to continue Steve's cancer treatments. The next major travel is to Maryland to start a new round of Clinical Trials. I have been working with a gal named Cheryl Lawrence at the Church in Hilton Head that Steve and Joni attend. I think she might be a travel agent or something. Not sure, however she is currently getting, collecting and organizing Steve and Joni’s travel arrangements with donated points. She can be reached @ (843) 597-3375 or emailed at islandcheryl@hotmail.com

If your able to donate any of your milage points, credit card points or donated airlines tickets, please contact her ASAP. She has beeen a huge blessing to the Colburns and she is asking for our help now. She makes it really really easy to transfer your points. Just contact her via phone or email.

Hello Everyone:
The Richter's are really looking forward to riding this weekend and seeing you all.. it seems like forever since our last ITD gathering!

As we started breaking out all the gear for Josh to try on to make sure it all still fit guess what THEY DON'T!! He has grown almost three inches and has grown out of all his clothes!! He has also grown out of his boots. I imagine that we are not the only ones in this situation.. so if you have any clothing or gear your kids have grown out of bring it with you this weekend and either sell it or swap it. I will also be bringing some of my old outfits.

So bring anything you want to get rid of and hopefully someone else can use it.

God Bless and we look forward to seeing you all this weekend!

Hi Everyone, I am looking to "pass the torch" in regards to the Welcome Bag stuff. It is a great project for 2-3 ladies to do together. It involves purchasing supplies, putting it all together, storing them, then bringing them out for each ride. You can work together and/or trade off as needed. Kathy Suujishi already mentioned that she would be interested in helping out. This is a great opportunity to help out in the ministry, and to alo get to know more people in our riding community by welcoming them. If you are interested, drop me a line at kmur100@cox.net. Scotty Hinricks, whos family camped with us once during the poker run, had a hard week with his cancer treatment. There was a time that Scotty was expected to go be with the Lord, however Gods grace, mercy and miracle healing power carried him through. He is in his 2nd year of stage 4 cancer treatment and his family is praying for a miracle. Through the 2 years, God has given them much hope and sustained them, now they need us to shwoer them in our prayers. Scotty is goign through experimental testing through clinical trials at a very good cancer hospital (I forgot the name).
Scottys parents, Susan and Roy, could use prayer themselves as they are going through a parents worst nightmare right now.
Scotty is 20 and came to know the Lord just before his was diagnosed 2 years ago. I have had many conversations with Scotty and I have NEVER met anybody at any age that is more on fire for the word of God. Scotty studies his "sword" for daily and unless GOd needs him up there sooner, he would like to become a missionary someday.

Please pray for him and his family!

A great turnout this weekend with 30+ families! We had some nice weather, windy...but not the kind that keeps you indoors all weeeknd. 4 of us turned out on Thursday afternoon to secure our campspot and get a jump on the riding! I went to bed with 4 trailers in camp and woke up with 6! They arrived pretty quietly or I slept soundly. On Friday riders arrived through out the day and our circle of trailers became quite the hub of activity. I finshed putting the final touches on the poker run course and we all settled into our trailers early due to the windy conditions. Saturday morning brought some wind but not enought to keep anybody indoors, our 830 meeting was packed full of new faces!
The 20 mile poker run saw 65 people finish the course and according to the ride reports, a good time was had by all.
I would love to hear who the YOUNGEST person was to complete the 20 mile loop and I would also like to hear who rode the smallest CC ride a whopping 20 miles. I heard of a 7 1/2 year old on a 70CC bike finish the loop. Any younger then that?
On Saturday afternoon the kids (and some adults) followed a treasure map to look for a hidden treasure near camp. They each planted a wooded stake near where they believed the treasure to be. At 5pm, I walked over to see 20 wooden stakes all within a 30 foot circle. The winer, James Kearly, had his stake planted directly on top of the buried treasure.
On Saturday night the wind died during our campfire time to make it a very comfortable evening. Jim led us in a great evening campfire devoltional and we ended with communion and the ever popular dessert potluck. I love that part!
Thanks to each of you who participated in the Cal-City Poker Run and a BIG thank you to those who served this group so that it could happen!
The $$ collected at the Poker Run helped restock our first aid kit and re-pay Jessica O'Connell a small portion of the money she has spend this year providing activities for the Jackrabitt Club.
We hope to see you all next month at Wagon Wheel off Trona Road, May 2nd-4th.

Scott and Cari Burnett

PS. If you have a good story to tell or were a first or second timer, we would love to hear from you! Hit reply and tell us about your weekend!

There is a place off the 395 just outside of Adelanto on the left. Its a nursery / firewood place and its open during daylight hours. $20 buys a good amount of firewood. If a few people were able to make this stop, I would be very grateful! Thanks for all of you that can help. There is going to be NO wind on Saturday night, so I plan on having a very good sized campfire. The more people theat can bring wood, the better. Thanks in advance!!

Introducing Madison Riley Burnett. She arrived 7:30pm last night, March 18th at 21 inches and 9lbs 3 oz.
At the end of the delivery, Cari had to have an emergency C-cection due to the baby’s falling heart rate. What a circus our room became with at least 8 staff attending frantically to wheel her into the operating room ….without dad. Not fun. Cari did a super job, despite the absent coach. She is resting now and we had lots of visiting family last night. The doctors have done well managing her pain, which seemed to be above the norm for a c-cection delivery. She is doing well this morning.
Our plan is to rest and introduce Jadyn and Zack to their new little sister later today or tomorrow. Thank you all for your prayers, txt messages and voice mails. We are blessed beyond comprehension with friends and feel so lucky to have each and every one of you to share our joy with.
We might go home tomorrow??

Many thanks to Robert Murray, he gets a gold star for showing kindness to a total stranger this weekend. I know it was God's will for me to find your club. I was signed up to meet another riding group this weekend, I was stopping at every group asking if they were the one I signed up with. As I moved down the road I came upon Robert moving his truck, he said if you can't find your group you are welcome to join ours. And since yours was Christ based, I figured this must be a devine intervention to lead me to a great Christian riding club. I never did find that other group. Thanks to all of you for being so kind, and so very unselfish. Many offered me food, and a place to stay if I got too cold. I wanted to quote a bible verse here, but I can't find it. You know you acted exactly how Jesus comanded us to. Thank you !

A special thanks to Matt and Robert for extending many offers to ride with them, even though I was not as skilled as they are. Thanks too for helping me overcome my fear of going down the BIG hill.

Thank you to Dan, Roxanne and daughter, from La Quinta, for befriending me. I enjoyed having the old man kick my butt out in the desert. HAHAHAHA The Jeep ride was fun too.

I can't wait to see you all again really soon!!!

God Bless, and thanks for allowing me into your group.

These items can be brought to Jessica O'Connell when you arrive at Dove Springs so we can prepare for Saturday! Thank you in advance for your help!

See you all soon In The Dirt!

We are looking at 2 rigs, wondering which is best...There is a Thor Fury 29TB which looks great! And a Warrior 26FS. Both are gel coat siding, in good shape. $2K difference in price and year in age between them. The Fury has a bit more space. Any suggestions on which to choose?
Thank you!

Hey,

The Kearleys and the Murrays are your trailbosses for February 1st through the 3rd! We are "Super Pumped" to be riding with you all again. We are praying for good weather, fellowship, and lasting memories. We pray also that Jims message will reach our hearts to "run the race" for His glory.

The Murrays will be leaving Thursday night.
Let us know if you'll be out.
Let us know too if you have kids who will take part in the "Jackrabbits".

Till next week!

God bless.

Hey Riders,

Team Murray wants to head back out to Trona Road/Charlie's Place the Weekend BRFORE our Feb Ocotillo ride. That would be Friday night the 25th, and leave Monday morning the 28th.

WE WILL BE GOING TO OCOTILLO THE NEXT WEEK TOO!

However since we cut short Trona Road and the kids have a "Teacher Conference Day" on Monday the 28th, AND Trona Road was a fun place to ride, we want to go back.

Who wants to join us???!!!!!!
Post a message or send me an email. Maybe you can't make Ocotillo the next week, or maybe you love to ride, or maybe you love our dogs. Whatever the reason, we would love the fellowship.

In His service,

Robert, Karin, Shannon, and Christopher

We'll be pulling a trailer so we'll be going slower than those without, but how do we hookup with other leaving for this trip so we're not soloing it out there to a place we've never been without a gps! :)

Thanks,
Ryan
