Many have asked how mike is coming along and I'm happy to say that he is coming along.....just slowly that's all.
He is still in the trauma until (now 10 days) at Loma Linda Hospital. His removed spleen last Saturday has caused his insides to do some re-adjusting and therefor he has been on a clear liquids diet for 4 days (driving him crazy).
His 8 broken ribs are healing and although still very painful, he does find it easier to move in his bed and is down to only two painkillers instead of 3.
He still has suction his lungs inflated and drained of blood. Perhaps these tubes will come out today?
He is able to sit up in bed now and is working on moving his arms and legs to keep blood flow moving in his limbs, not being able to even move your torso without extreme pain has made it hard to keep his arms and legs from becoming weak.
Our concern now is for the Martin family finances. Mike is the sole provider and is in the hard hit construction industry. Being out of work for the past 10 days, and possible the next 2 months, is bound to take an enormous toll on their ability to keep food on the table, gas in the car and the electricity turned on, not to mention the mortgae and other bills that go along with home ownership.
We have created an account so that his In The Dirt family can give if they are led to. Dan O and Robert M will post the details later today or tomorrow on how you can give to the Martins in this great time of need.
Mike and Nicol are so blessed by our continued support and prayers. Please don't stop.
Blessings,
ScottyB
